Tournament Rules
The Bundesliga is divided into three divisions: “North / North-East”, “South / South-West” and “West”, similar to the regional leagues from which it was created, each of which has 14 clubs. Each team plays two matches with each team from its division - one at home and one away. Following the results of the tournament, the last three teams fly to the corresponding regional leagues.
Division winners take part in the German title. In the 2007/08 season, division winners and the runner-up team in the South / Southwest division participated in this final pool. Since the 2008/09 season, the fourth team has been selected among the runners-up in the divisions for special points calculated for clubs based on the performance over the past three seasons. In this calculation, three points are awarded to the team from the division for winning the single championship, two points for participating in the final game for the title, one point for losing in the semifinal game. In case of equality of points, the participant of the final pool is selected according to the highest result of the previous season [1] .
