Software Leaks
Over the entire life of the service, there have been several cases of leaks of secret Apple software obtained by cybercriminals by participating in beta programs. First of all, we are talking about the sensational leak of Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger. After the beta version of the OS appeared on torrent trackers, the trial turned into a court. [2]
OS X Lion, OS X Mountain Lion, and OS X Mavericks also leaked to the network several times. In Apple, to prevent leaks, an alert system was created that warned that a certain version of the OS was loaded by the tester into the torrent crackers.
Attempts to attack developer servers
On July 18, 2013, attackers tried to gain access to confidential personal information stored on the servers of Apple developers. The information was encrypted, but Apple cannot guarantee that any information about the developers was not stolen. After the attack, the site was closed from Thursday July 18 to Sunday July 21. After the site was commissioned, Apple announced that they would constantly improve security algorithms to avoid confidential data leaks in the future. [3] [4]
