History
It was written by the guitarist of the Brigadier in a row group Yuri Sobolev to the words of Anton Soi and recorded by Sobolev and the vocalist of the group A. Conviser in 2002 in the home studio along with other songs of the album “Violence And Sex” (Sobolev considered the album authorial and soon left the group after recording ) Against the background of other songs of the album, it was distinguished by gloom (“only once“ contractors ”removed their smiles from their faces and ... scornfully scorned the song“ Pops ””) [2] .
In 2003, on the initiative of the director of the Kukryniksy group Igor Punker Gudkov (perhaps the idea belonged to Anton Soy), the song was decided to be used as a rock manifest: “For a long time there were no manifestos, because“ All this is rock and roll “10 years ago - this is already an old time ... <...> So we all decided to get together and do something similar, because everyone has already burned and boiled up in their hearts about pop music - you need to fight it and give jazz ! ”The song was recorded at the DDT studio, and at the same time we managed to attract leaders of famous p St. Petersburg to groups ( Yuri Shevchuk (DDT), Ilya Chert (Pilot), Duke and Jerry (The King and the Clown), Aleksandr Chernetskiy (different people), Alexei Gorshenev (Kukryniksy), and others.). The record was taken into rotation on "Our Radio" and for more than a month led the hit parade " Chart Dozen " [3] . The song caused a significant resonance and, according to A. Burlaki, “brought to a new round the ideological confrontation of honest art and the semi-criminal Moscow stage” [4] . In particular, music critic A.K. Troitsky sharply negatively commented both on the quality of the song and on the confrontation, considering it pointless. The performers of the song, commenting on the accusations of confrontation, noted that “pop” did not mean specific representatives of the pop: “this is such a cheap, lustful phenomenon that plays on the base instincts of people ... that is created only to be sold! That is, money is at the forefront! Therefore, "pop" exists not only in pop music, but also among rockers " [5] .
In connection with the popularity of the song, it was decided to create a project called the "Rock Band" [6] . Under this name, the album “Pops” was released, where there were several versions of the song of the same name [4] . The song was performed live in November 2003 by the DDT group, together with some members of the studio recording at a concert at the Olimpiysky Sports Complex [7] .
