Bashkyzylasai's incandescent images , Bashkyzylsai petroglyphs ( Uzb. Boshqizilsoy rasmlari, Boshizilsoy rasllari ) - an archaeological monument in Parkentsky district of the Tashkent region , petroglyphs , made on the rocks in the gorge of the Bashkyzylsay river. The creation of drawings refers to the periods of antiquity and the early Middle Ages .

Location
The archaeological site is located in the eastern part of the Parkentsky district of the Tashkent region , near the kishlak Nevich [1] , 70–80 km from Tashkent and 25–30 km from the city of Parkent [1] . The drawings were made on the cliffs of the southwestern slope of the Chatkal Range , forming the Bashkyzylsay Gorge [2] (the name of the Kyzylsay River in the upper course), on its right bank [1] .
Study History
Rock carvings of Bashkyzylsay were discovered by A. Mirmuhammedov in 1934 [1] [2] . In 1965, the survey of the monument was conducted by E. G. Pruger . In the work “Archaeological monuments of the Tashkent region” it is reported that in 1969 A. Kabirov counted the number of petroglyphs, which exceeded 600 [1] . According to the National Encyclopedia of Uzbekistan , A. Kabirov conducted studies of rock paintings in 1966 and 1971-1972 (the total number of drawings is also estimated as more than 400) [2] .
Dating
Bashkyzylsay petroglyphs were created from the beginning of the I millennium BC. er until the middle of I millennium n. er [1] , which corresponds to the periods of antiquity and the early Middle Ages . Most of the images refer to the VI — I [ clarify ] centuries, there are also images I [ clarify ] - VIII century [2] .
Technique and content
Petroglyphs have a contour character, hollowed out on the rocks using the cleavage technique [1] [2] .
Among the drawings there are circular solar symbols , images of humans, domestic and wild animals [1] (horse, dog, wolf, snow leopard , mountain goat , argali , deer, boar [2] ), scene images [1] [2] . The content of the scene images in the work “Archaeological Monuments of the Tashkent Region” is characterized as unclear [1] . According to the "National Encyclopedia of Uzbekistan", among them there are paintings of religious rites, hunting, cattle breeding, locking the herds into the pen, attacks of the snow leopard on mountain goats [2] .
