Initial Biography

Semyon Petrovich Mikulsky was born on September 15, 1896 in the village of Kivachina, Pruzhany district, Grodno province, now Shereshevsky council of the Pruzhany district, Brest region.

Military Service

World War I and Civil War

In 1915 he was drafted into the ranks of the Russian Imperial Army , after which he was sent to study at the 2nd Moscow Ensign School, after which he was sent to the South-Western Front in 1916 , where he was appointed commander of an infantry company with the rank of second lieutenant .

In February 1918 he joined the ranks of the Red Army , after which he was appointed head of the military food station of the Tula railway station, in August - the head of the Nizhny Novgorod military food railway station, in May 1919 - the assistant manager of the Rzhev military food station, and in December - to the post of military commandant of the city of Rzhev .

In May 1920, Mikulsky was appointed to the post of company commander of the reserve battalion of the Mozyr group of the Western Front , in October - to the post of company commander of the school of the command staff of the 10th Rifle Division in Voronezh , in April 1921 - to the post of instructor of the political department of the Tambov Army , in July - to the post of head of the political department of the 3rd combat section of the Tambov Army and the 15th Siberian Cavalry Division in Borisoglebsk . He took part in the hostilities on the Western Front , as well as in the suppression of the uprising in the Tambov province .

Interwar

In April 1922 he was appointed to the post of deputy head of the political department of the 56th Rifle Division ( Leningrad Military District ), in May 1923 - to the post of head of the organizational and accounting department of the political department of the 16th Rifle Division , in April 1924 - to the post Head of the Political Department of the 5th Kuban Cavalry Brigade ( Siberian Military District ), and in September 1925 - to the post of Military Commissioner of the 12th Rifle Regiment ( 4th Rifle Division , Western Military District ).

In August 1926, Mikulsky was sent to study at the MV Frunze Military Academy , after which in July 1929 he was sent to the 81st Infantry Division ( Moscow Military District ), where he served as company commander of the 242nd Infantry regiment, temporarily performing the post of commander and commissar of the 243rd infantry regiment.

In May 1930, he was appointed to the post of chief of the 1st part of the headquarters of the 56th Infantry Division ( Leningrad Military District ), in December of that year - to the post of assistant chief, then - to the post of chief of the 1st sector of the 1st division, and in February 1933 - to the post of head of the 2nd sector of the same department at the headquarters of the Leningrad Military District. In November of the same year he was sent to study at the operational department of the MV Frunze Military Academy, after which he returned to the headquarters of the Leningrad Military District in July 1934 , where he served as head of the 2nd sector of the 1st department and assistant chief of the 2nd department of the district headquarters.

In December 1936, Mikulsky was appointed to the post of commander of the 162nd Infantry Regiment ( 54th Infantry Division , Leningrad Military District), in August 1939 - to the post of Chief of Staff of the 142nd Infantry Division , after which he took part in the Soviet Finnish war .

In April 1940 he was appointed commander of the 142nd Rifle Division.

World War II

With the outbreak of war, Mikulsky was in his former position, and since September of that year he served as chief of staff of the 23rd Army (Leningrad Front), which was conducting defensive military operations on the Karelian Isthmus . In January 1942, he was appointed deputy commander of the 54th Army and commander of the operational group of troops of the Volkhov Front , and since November of that year he served as chief of staff of the 2nd shock army .

In December, he was appointed deputy commander of the 8th Army , and on June 19, 1943 - the post of commander of the 6th Rifle Corps , which during the Novgorod-Luga offensive operation took part in the liberation of Novgorod .

In April 1944 he was appointed to the post of commander of the 123rd Rifle Corps , in June - to the post of commander of the 99th Rifle Corps , which in December of that year was transformed into the 40th Guards , after which he took part in the Vyborg-Petrozavodsk and Petsamo-Kirkenes offensive operations , as well as during the liberation of Kirkenes and Petsamo , and then acted during the East Pomeranian offensive operation .

In March 1945 he was appointed commandant of the city of Danzig .

Post-War Career

In July 1945, Lieutenant General Mikulsky was appointed to the post of commander of the 54th Rifle Corps , and in May 1946, to the post of senior lecturer at the K.E. Voroshilov Higher Military Academy . In June 1948, he was awarded the right to graduate from the Academy.

Lieutenant General Semyon Petrovich Mikulsky in March 1955 left the reserve. He died on May 8, 1964 in Moscow , was buried in the Preobrazhensky cemetery .
