Akkani is a cape on the coast of the Chukchi Peninsula , washed by the waters of the Mechigmen Bay of the Bering Sea . Administratively refers to the territory of the Chukotka region of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug .

Near the cape there is an ice-free wormwood, as well as a large walrus rookery [1] .
Akkani Village
In the northeastern part of the cape, there is the abolished village of Akkani sea ββhunters ( Chuk. YΔ±nin , nauk. YΔ±t [2] ), where in the 1960s there were about 150 people who had been resettled in Lorino by 1978. The surrounding area began to be used as a hunting site. However, in 1991, permanent residents reappeared in Akkani. A number of buildings were restored, while the village is officially considered non-residential [3] .
Toponym
The name is translated from Chuk. YΣynin - βcoldβ, βcoldβ [4] . According to another version, the name is translated as βseven yurtsβ [3] .
