Biography
In 1990 he graduated from the Izhevsk Medical Institute , specializing in medical business.
He established and participated in a number of commercial structures, including Gremikha LLC, Niva LLC, Stolitsa LLC, and Stolitsa Management Company LLC. From 1997 to 2002, he headed Gaz-Invest LLC; from 2002 to 2006 was headed by Volgaburmash-Izhevsk LLC, from 2006 to 2009 - General Director of Management Company Stolitsa LLC, and from 2009 to 2011 - Director of Construction Company Stolitsa LLC.
He heads the public organization “Football Federation of the Udmurt Republic”.
On August 7, 2007, at an extraordinary conference, the LDPR was unanimously elected the new coordinator of the party’s regional branch [3] , after which he took second place in her election list to the State Duma after Mikhail Pitkevich . The ousted coordinator Igor Shipitsyn considered that during the conference the party’s charter and the Federal Law “On Parties” were violated, and therefore went to court [4] .
On October 2, Markin headed the party list of candidates for deputies of the State Council [5] . As a result of the elections held on December 4, he entered the regional parliament and took the chair of the chairman of the Liberal Democrats [6] .
In September 2011, after Pitkevich transferred to the Popular Front , he headed the republican list of the party in the elections to the State Duma of the sixth convocation [7] . In the elections, the regional branch of the party received 1 mandate, which was transferred to Markin [8] .
In the formed parliament, Andrei Markin is the deputy chairman of the Duma Committee on Land Relations and Construction.
In February 2014, before the start of the election campaign for the head of Udmurtia, Andrei Markin identified himself as a likely candidate from the LDPR for the post of head of the republic, emphasizing that the decision will be made by the party’s highest council [9] . It was officially nominated in mid-June [10] . According to the election results, he scored 3.39%, taking third place [11] .

According to the submitted declarations, Markin's income for 2013 amounted to 5.519 million rubles. He owns 9 houses and 6 apartments in Russia (three of which are shared), as well as several land plots with a total area of 12.8 thousand square meters [12] .
Criticism
A number of media reported Markin's involvement in criminal structures related to oil theft and the illegal arms trade. Known by the nickname "Markel". [13] [14] .
