Gomorrah (television series)

Gomorra ( Italian: Gomorra. La serie ) is an Italian television series based on the novel of the same name by Roberto Saviano and the 2008 movie Matteo Garrone . The name beats the nickname of the Neapolitan mafia, camorra , and refers to the biblical story of Gomorrah , the city of sinners.

Story

Ciro Di Marzio earned the nickname "Immortal" on the streets of Naples, helping the clan Savastano control the sale of drugs. However, the Conte clan begins to trade on the territory of Savastano, and Ciro must stop the intervention. The problems of the “family” are not limited to this: an incredibly knowledgeable informant transfers secret information to the police, and Don Savastano's only son is completely inexperienced in criminal matters, which poses a threat to the integrity of the criminal empire in the event of the arrest of his father.

The series was shot in Italy ( Naples , Rome , Milan , Ferrara ), Spain ( Barcelona ) and France ( Menton ). Most of the scenes in Naples were filmed in his northern region of .

Impression Ratings

The first season was first shown from May 6 to June 10 by Sky Italia. Subsequently, the rights to show the series were sold in more than 30 other countries [1] .

The television series was warmly received by critics. The Variety review emphasized "almost clinical accuracy" in revealing the essence of the camorra, and the television series itself was rated higher than the movie from the same book, although the latter received the Grand Prix of the Cannes Film Festival.
