Pangri Zampa Monastery is a Buddhist monastery of the Nyingma School in Bhutan . It is located 5 km north of Thimphu , the capital of Bhutan, immediately behind the Decchencholing Palace [1] .

It is one of the oldest monasteries in Bhutan and was founded in 1616 by the first Buddhist monks who came from Tibet to Bhutan. Served as the first residence for Ngawang Namgyal when he arrived in Bhutan. [1]
Currently, the monastery has a famous school of astrologers, where, in addition to private predictions, predictions are compiled for the whole country for the year ahead. For this reason, the monastery hosts a large colorful festival [2] .
