History
In the railway timetables, the 845 km checkpoint (in the service timetables is Strelka No. 2, the code in the USSR classification is 10381 [3] ) appeared in 1972 [4] . This checkpoint is equipped at the transition from a single-track to a double-track section. In 1999 it was renamed in honor of the boulder Melkitaru Muldas Akmens, located 3 km north of the platform on the edge of the former Muldu swamp (now Muldu meadow).
In 2012, during the construction of the second track on the Skriveri – Krustpils section, the platform of the checkpoint was moved approximately 500 m to Riga . This temporary apron was dismantled after the construction of new high aprons near the crossing in the direction of Aizkraukle. After putting the second way into operation and eliminating the arrow of the checkpoint, Muldakmens became a stopping point.
