The official name is Eastern Cemetery. Among the inhabitants of the city it is known as the “Baki Cemetery” because of the oil storage located near it.
Opened in 1960. Its territory has expanded twice and now occupies almost 48 hectares. Since 2005, the cemetery has been officially closed, but burials continue in the graves of relatives. About half a million people are buried .
