Christianity in the Gambia is one of the religions represented in the country.
According to the in 2010, 80 thousand Christians lived in the Gambia, which made up 4.7% of the country's population [1] [2] . The encyclopedia of “Religions of the World” by J. G. Melton estimates the share of Christians in 2010 at 4.4% (81.4 thousand believers) [3] .
The largest direction of Christianity in the country is Catholicism . In 2000, there were 106 churches and places of worship in the Gambia belonging to 20 different Christian denominations [4] .
Christianity in the Gambia is professed by representatives of the cryo , diol , igbo , mankan people , as well as a significant part of the Yoruba . Christians are also the majority of the British , French and Greeks living in the Gambia.
