Christianity in Benin is the largest religion in the country.
According to the in 2010, 4.73 million Christians lived in Benin, who made up 53.4% of the country's population [1] [2] . Encyclopedia "Religions of the World" by G. G. Melton estimates the proportion of Christians in 2010 at 39.2% (3.9 million believers) [3] .
The largest areas of Christianity in the country are Catholicism and Protestantism . In 2000, 3.5 thousand Christian churches and places of worship belonged to 42 different Christian denominations in Benin [4] .
