Christianity in the Philippines

Christianity in the Philippines is the largest religion in the country.

According to the in 2010 the Philippines was home to 86.8 million Christians , who made up 93.1% of the country's population [1] [2] . The encyclopedia of “Religions of the World” by J. G. Melton estimates the share of Christians in 2010 at 89.4% (83.15 million believers) [3] .

The largest direction of Christianity in the country is Catholicism . In 2000, there were 81.2 thousand Christian churches and places of worship in the Philippines belonging to 499 different Christian denominations [4] .
