Christianity in Belarus is the most common religion in the country.
According to the 2010 , 6.83 million Christians lived in Belarus in 2010, accounting for 71.2% of the country's population [1] [2] . The Encyclopedia of “Religions of the World” by J. G. Melton estimates the share of Christians in 2010 at 73.7% (7 million believers) [3] .
The largest direction of Christianity in the country is Orthodoxy . In 2000, there were 2.7 thousand Christian churches and places of worship in Belarus belonging to 26 different Christian denominations [4] .
In addition to Belarusians , the majority of Russians , Poles , Ukrainians , Armenians , Moldavians , Lithuanians , Germans , Bulgarians and others living in the country are also Christians.
