Debuted on Broadway in the 1920s. He made his film debut in 1931. Thanks to his beautiful appearance, he successfully played major roles in a number of films. Among the most famous films with his participation are “ Flight to Rio ” (1933), “ Mr. and Mrs. Smith ” (1941). From 1937 until her death, he was married to actress Janet MacDonald , there were no children from the marriage.
