Environmental Responsibility Rating of Oil and Gas Companies of the Russian Federation (Common Sense) - a rating of the largest oil and gas companies with an assessment of the level of environmental responsibility prepared by WWF , the Creon Group and the National Rating Agency. [1] [2]

The list includes 19 companies operating in the Russian Federation, including Rosneft , Gazprom , Gazprom Neft , Lukoil , Tatneft , Surgutneftegas , Bashneft , Sakhalin Energy , Total RRR and others. [3] The companies were evaluated by the quality of environmental protection management ( environmental management ) according to the scale of environmental impact and degree of transparency, i.e. companies' willingness to disclose environmental information. [4] The rating was prepared solely on the basis of public information. Surgutneftegas, Sakhalin Energy, and Gazprom were in the top ranks of the rating. [5] [6] [7]

According to the results of the rating, some features were revealed, for example: the level of transparency of public companies is at a high level, at the same time, the subsidiaries of these companies have a low level of transparency; almost all companies have ISO 14001 certification ; only 7 companies disclose data on polluted water discharges into surface water bodies, as well as statistics on pipeline breaks; 7 companies publish information about contaminated lands, 5 companies publish information about polluted lands, 5 companies disclose the share of excess payments in the total amount of payments for negative environmental impacts, and only 6 companies disclose the amount of oil spilled during the year as a result of accidents and leaks.
