The Church of St. Michael the Archangel is an Orthodox church in the Solnechnogorsk Deanery of the Moscow Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church . Located in the village of Vertlino, Solnechnogorsk district, Moscow region .
In May 1825, parishioners from the village of Vertlinsky sent a petition to the bishop of Moscow and Kolomenskiy Filaret , which stated the desire to build a stone church in honor of St. Michael the Archangel, with an architectural project, possibly authored by A.F. Elkinsky . The project was approved, and on September 30 of the same year, a churchly signed letter was signed.
In 1833, construction work was completed and the chapel was consecrated in the refectory in the name of St. Cyril of Belozersky . The consecration of the throne of the Archangel was carried out around 1841-1842.
On September 10, 1939, by a decision of the Presidium of the Moscow Oblast Executive Committee, the church was closed, and the building was transferred to the Committee on Public Education as a school.
Until the end of the 1960s, the bell tower was completely destroyed, and the wall paintings were painted over. By the fire that happened after the school was closed, the ceilings were destroyed, and the arches collapsed.
Since 2005, restoration work has been carried out - the walls and the vault of the bell tower have been erected, 11 bells have been hanged, the central altar has been rebuilt, the main and small chapels have been plastered and whitewashed, the dome is installed, the chapels and crosses are erected. A church shop was also built, to which in 2013 a refectory, a children's room and a room for mother and child were added.
In 2014, an iconostasis was installed in the central aisle, icons of its first tier were painted, consecrated and placed; the chandelier was hanged.
