In the late 1950s, Avalon released such popular songs as “Ginger Bread” [4] and his biggest hits are Venus (five weeks in the first place of the main American national chart Billboard Hot 100 ) and "Why" (one week in the first place).
In parallel, starting in 1957, the singer began to gradually switch to an acting career. After successful supporting roles in films such as "Guns of the Timberland" and Fort Alamo , by the mid-1960s, he had become the star of cheap but very lucrative beach party comedies at American-International Studios. His partner in these films was Annette Funichello [4] . Their couple not only became an icon of youth films, but also gave concerts throughout the country as a singing duet.
In the early 1970s, his star as an actor went down, and he returned to singing, in 1976, shortly starring in the nostalgic pop television program Easy Does It [4] with the participation of many artists of past years.
In the late 1980s, Frankie Avalon acted as a co-producer of the movie Back to the Beach (1987), in which the couple Avalon and Funichello reunited in the lead roles [4] .
