(4827) Dareth ( Latin Dares , Greek Δάρης ) is a typical Trojan asteroid of Jupiter moving at the Lagrange point L 5 , 60 ° behind the planet. The asteroid was discovered on August 17, 1988 by the American astronomer Carolyn Shoemaker at the Palomar Observatory and named after Dareth Phrygian , one of the heroes of the Trojan War [2] .

Orbit of the asteroid Dareth and its position in the solar system
Photometric observations conducted in 1994 made it possible to obtain the light curves of this body, from which it followed that the period of rotation of the asteroid around its axis is 18.995 ± 0.028 hours, with a change in brightness with rotation of 0.24 ± 0.02 m [1] .
