Zelle, Friedrich

Friedrich Zelle ( German: Friedrich Selle ; June 11, 1860, Rügen Island - April 27, 1931 , Bad Ischl , Austria ) - Austrian philosopher, Lutheran priest , theologian and church historian. He founded the Podhaj Bóh magazine.

Biography

He graduated from high school in the city of Bytom , after which he studied at the theological faculty at the university in Breslau . In 1885, he was ordained a priest and served as vicar in a Lutheran parish in the village of Kreba in Upper Luzitsa . The following year he was appointed rector and district inspector of secondary schools. At the same time, he began to engage in philosophy. In 1889 he received a doctorate in philosophy. In 1891, he founded the Pomhaj Bóh Magazine in the Upper Sorbian language in his parish.

After ten years of service in Kreba in 1895 he moved to Austria-Hungary, where he worked as a priest in the parishes of Tyrol. Until his death, he served as chaplain in a small Lutheran church in the Austrian Alps. From 1902 to 1905 he was a priest in the parish of the city of Steyr and from 1907 in the city of Bad Ischl. In 1909 he moved to Graz . Later he worked in the village of Aussee, where he built a Lutheran temple. In 1908, he received a Ph.D. in theology from the University of Vienna . Since 1912 he served in the parish in Grombing and since 1922 in the parish in Bad Aussee.

During his priestly ministry he was engaged in botany. He laid the alpine hill in 1913 in Bad Aussee, which has survived to our time.

In 1929, he left his ministry due to disability. During his retirement, he lived in Bad Ischl, where he died on April 27, 1931.

Compositions

During his ministry he was engaged in research on church history, canon law and the relationship of natural philosophy with Christianity. He wrote several theological works. He edited the essay Schicksalsbuch der evangelischen Kirche in Österreich and was responsible for the scientific publication of important documents on the history of the Lutheran church in Austria.
