Basic Information
Six A-01 type diesel engines manufactured by Altai Motor Plant OJSC are designed for installation on agricultural, industrial and forestry tractors, and road-building equipment. The main dealers for the sale of these engines is Cheboksary Power Units Plant LLC .
A-01 naturally aspirated diesel engines are equipped with a 2-valve gas distribution mechanism. They are distinguished by simplicity of design and reliability. Diesels correspond to emissions of harmful substances GOST R 41.96-2005. In diesels, cast iron sleeves with surface treatment by flat top honing, pistons with a three-ring set of piston rings, an optimized side surface profile and a graphitized skirt, a crankcase with increased strength and improved cooling of cylinder liners are used. Improvements in the design of diesel engines in recent years have made it possible to reduce oil consumption for waste and increase engine life up to 12,000 engine hours.
Main options
At the request of consumers, the following options are possible:
- clutch;
- exhaust silencer;
- liquid-oil heat exchanger for cooling engine oil;
- generator with power from 800 W to 3000 W and voltage of 12 or 24 V;
- belt driven pneumatic compressor;
- electric torch preheating of air;
- two hydraulic pumps of the NSh-10 and NSh-32 type.

Beware of counterfeit
The main (of 40) design measures implemented on diesels of the Altai Motor Plant:
- Since 2000, in the production of engines only individual cylinder heads have been used instead of monoblock, due to this there is an increase in the reliability of the gas joint seal, a decrease in the ovalization of the cylinder liner, and a decrease in crankcase oil consumption for waste;
- Since 2003, the introduction of electric start-up (instead of a starting engine with a gearbox);
- Since 2012, the use of a block crankcase (from castings from Luitpoldhuette, Germany) with a modified cooling scheme has increased reliability, thereby ensuring effective cooling of cylinder liners.
