History
Ha-television ha-klalit (1968-1993)
Launched on May 2, 1968 in black-and-white standard 576i as “Ha-tv ha-klalit” ( Hebrew הטלוויזיה הכללית - “universal television”) or “Ha-tv ha-Israelite” ( Hebrew הטלוויזיה הישראלית - “Israeli Television”). On January 13, 1982, the PAL standard passed (the first color shows were made earlier, which included broadcasts of the visit of the President of Egypt to Israel in 1977 and the Eurovision Song Contest 1979 ). In 1985, the Israeli Arabic television program received the Israel Prize . In the early 1990s through regional private cable operators (in 2003 merged into the nationwide cable operator Hot), an analog cable version of Channel One was launched.
Channel One (1993 to 2017)
November 4, 1993 was renamed the "First Channel". In July 2000, through the state-owned satellite operator Yes, a satellite version of Channel One was launched, first in the analog standard and later in DVB-S. In 2001, the version of the “First Channel” in the DVB-C standard was launched; on August 2, 2009 - the version in the DVB-T standard. In May 2010, a version of Channel One in the 1080i decomposition standard was launched in the DVB-C, DVB-S2, and DVB-T2 standards. On March 31, 2011, the PAL version of Channel One stopped broadcasting. In June 2014, the cable analogue version ceased broadcasting.
Due to the closure of Reshut Hashidur, the broadcast of the first channel closed on May 15, 2017. His replacement is Kan 11 .
Financing
To a large extent, it was financed by a television license, although a small amount of advertising was also present. The channel was the main television channel Reshut Hashidur; previously it was the only television channel in the country.
