CKD6E is an AC / DC shunting diesel locomotive with power transmission, developed by Ziyang Locomotive Building Company LLC (China) for railways of Central Asia. Since the end of 2012, the assembly of locomotives of this series has also been localized in Kazakhstan [1] under the brand name TEM-KZ with separate numbering. [2] As of 2016, more than 150 shunting locomotives of the CKD6E series are operated in Kazakhstan and more than 70 in Turkmenistan.

Construction
The diesel locomotive is equipped with a diesel type 6240ZJB, a main synchronous generator of the TFQR-3000 type and a traction electromotor of the ZQDR-410 engine. The operating power is 990 kW (1,350 hp), the axial formula is 3 0 —3 0 , the load from the wheel sets on the rails is 22 tons, the maximum speed is 80 km / h. Also used a computer control system and other new technologies.
The locomotive has one driver's cab, an external corridor, the long end of the locomotive is the directing side of the locomotive. The locomotive consists of an auxiliary chamber, a cooled chamber, a power chamber, an electric chamber, a driver’s cab and a rear cab from front to back.
The locomotive has an electrical transmission of a three-phase AC-DC current: the diesel engine drives the main generator to produce a three-phase AC current, which, after rectification, is transmitted to 6 parallel-connected traction motors. Each traction motor drives one wheelset to rotate using gears.
In the locomotive, a bonnet-type body with an external corridor is used, the railing of the steps is installed all around, at the four corners there are stairs with handrails, in the engine room there is a side door for ease of repair. Installed in the back of the device for thermal insulation, heating, fire extinguishing and ventilation.
In the auxiliary chamber, a heater and a wind source system are installed, consisting of an air compressor unit and an air dryer.
On the upper part of the cooled chamber, a group of radiators and a fan of the refrigerator are installed, on the lower part there is a hydrostatic gearbox, a ventilating machine for the rear traction motor, a hydrostatic system, etc.
A diesel generator and the corresponding air filter, fuel filter, fuel supply pump, oil pump, piping and cooling water valves, etc. are installed in the power chamber. A body ventilation machine is installed at the top of the power chamber, which removes smoke and removes heat from the engine room. To remove interference in the exhaust system of a diesel engine, a silencer is provided, which is mounted on the lid of the power chamber.
A control cabinet, a silicon rectifier cabinet, a transmission transmission box, a starting generator, a front ventilation machine for a traction engine, a field generator, etc. are installed in the electric chamber. The locomotive is equipped with a microprocessor control system.
