Florence is a cape in the Chukotka Autonomous Region of Russia , located on the western tip of Wrangel Island .

It is the extreme point of the sand spit that separates the mouth of the Gusinaya River from the water area of ββthe East Siberian Sea . A little south of the cape is Lake Kmo .
It was named by the American captain Berry in 1881 (from the English florescence - βfloweringβ, due to the abundance of flowers at this time on the cape) [1] .
