The 437th Fighter Aviation Regiment began to form in the Dnipropetrovsk Region on August 10, 1941. Further formation continued in the 11th reserve fighter aviation regiment (first in Rostov-on-Don, then in Kirovobad). The final formation and training of the flight crew was completed on February 20, 1942 in the 11th reserve fighter aviation regiment of the Transcaucasian Military District in the city of Kirovobad) on LaGG-3 aircraft.
Rename a shelf
On August 24, 1943, the 437th Fighter Aviation Regiment was renamed the 113th Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment for exemplary performance of combat missions and courage and heroism shown on the basis of the Order of the USSR Non-Profit Organization [1] .

The first known air victory of a regiment in World War II was won by regiment commander Major M. Khvostikov. In an air battle on June 14, 1942, a German reconnaissance officer, Henschel Hs 126, was shot down in the area of Cherny .
