Jadwiga Falkowska ( Polish: Jadwiga Falkowska ; November 13, 1889 , Tver - August 7, 1944 , Warsaw ) is a Polish social activist, founder of the girls' scout movement , Polish artisan and teacher at the Warsaw University of Technology and Vilnius University named after Stefan Batory . During the Second World War - a serviceman of the Home Army. Known by the nicknames Yaga ( Polish. Jaga ), Ludwika ( Polish. Ludwika ) and Zdzislava ( Polish. Zdzisława ).

Biography
Born on November 13, 1889 in Tver (Russian Empire). In 1908, she went to study at the Faculty of Physics in Lviv, where she met the female scout movement in 1911. In the same year, she began organizing scout groups of girls and their training in Lesser Poland. In 1912, she became the leader of the girls' squads, leading the 3rd Lviv Scout squad named after Emilia Plater . Before the start of World War I, she trained girls in Vilnius, Poznan and Warsaw, organizing women's scout courses.
From 1915 to 1918, in evacuation in Moscow, in absentia she continued her studies at the Faculty of Physics and the organization of scout squads. In 1919, after returning to her homeland, she joined the leadership of the Union of Polish Scouts . In the 1920s, the head of the Warsaw Banner of girls-scouts, from 1926 to 1927, she was the Acting Head of the Women's Apartment of the Union of Polish Scouts. Since 1928, the head of the 2nd All-Polish rally of girls-scouts. Participant of the VIII World Conference WAGGGS in Switzerland in 1934.
During the Second World War, she acted underground, and served from 1942 to 1944 in the Craiova Army as deputy head of the Military Women's Service . On August 7, 1944, on Independence Street ( Polish: aleja Niepodległości ) in Warsaw, Jadwiga Falkowska died while fighting against the punitive from the 29th Grenadier Division of the SS RONA .
Re-buried in the Alley of Honorable Citizens at the War Cemetery in Warsaw.
She was awarded the Order of the Renaissance of Poland (cavalier), the Cross of the Craiova Army, the Cross of the Brave, as well as the silver and gold Crosses of Merit with swords.
