Born on August 14, 1907 in the village of Novo-Borisov ( Belarus ) in the family of a teacher of a parish school. Graduated from Moscow Power Engineering Institute (1930), electrical engineer.

He worked at the Leningrad plant "Electrosila", since 1939 the chief designer, in 1947-1949 the chief engineer. Even before the war, with his participation, a series of record-breaking turbogenerators was created - up to 100 thousand kilowatts with air cooling. In 1946, under his leadership, the first in Europe 100,000 kW turbo-generator with hydrogen cooling was developed.

In 1949-1956 deputy. Director, since 1956, Director of the Research Institute of Electrophysical Equipment, formed on the basis of the Design Bureau of the Electrosila Plant. Doctor of Technical Sciences (1957).
