In 1920, he won a gold medal in an art competition at the Olympic Games in the category "Music" for his work "Olympique" ("Olympic").

Since 1922 member, and later secretary of the group "Avant-garde Composers of Belgium" in Brussels. He traveled to Europe, visited France, Italy, Austria, England, Switzerland and Germany, lived for several years in Paris.

His works include the operas La Femme Fatale and Te Deum , a cantata, music for chorus and orchestra, as well as VIIIe Olympique de Pindare .

He was one of the founders of the art weekly magazine "7 Arts" and led his musical section.
