Short Biography

In 1974 he graduated from the University of Strathclyde (Scotland), where he defended his doctoral dissertation in 1978. In 1978-2007 Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering, University of Malaya , since 2007 - Professor. The first Malaysian scientist who began to specialize in the field of applied biomechanics and, in particular, the mechanics of living tissues. In 1997, he developed a course of lectures on biomedical engineering. He wrote a number of scientific books, including “Mechanics of Dynamical Systems” (2001). Thrice served as dean of the Faculty of Engineering. Since 1990 - Member of the Senate of the University.

Literary work

The first poem was published in 1995. It is published in magazines and newspapers. In 2003, his poetic anthology Semeleard was published. [2] , and in 2014 in Jakarta the collection "Night Pioneer." [3] Poems are also published in collections with other poets: “Mission” (1996), “Earth in Bloom” (1998), “Pledge of allegiance to the mother tongue” (1999), “Seething” (2003). The first story was published in 2003.

Establishment of a virtual literary community

In 2002, he founded and led the virtual community "Poet", which was later transformed into the magazine E-Sastera. Since 2004, individual works of E-Sastera magazine began to be published in the paper magazine Best created by him. E-Sastera currently unites 20 communities in various genres of literature (poetry, humor, story, novel, pantun , haiku , etc.). Since 2003, E-sastera annually awards prizes for the best works published in the journal [4] . Virtual works are also published under his editorship in the form of books (“Apas”, “Humorous Poems” - 2003; the collective novel “Dormitory: Second Wind” - 2004). In 2015, with its help, the "ASEAN Literature House" (Rumah Sastra ASEAN) was created in Banten (Indonesia) [5] .
