Aleksey Alekseevich Bogdanov (February 25, 1907, Sukhum - September 18, 1971, Moscow ) - Soviet scientist and geologist. Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences (1945), Professor (1946), Head of the Department of Historical and Regional Geology, Moscow State University. Corresponding Member of the German Academy of Sciences in Berlin (1962). Honored Scientist of the RSFSR (1967).

Biography
Born on February 12 ( 25 ), 1907 in the city of Sukhum , the Russian Empire .
After graduating from high school in the city of Yaroslavl, he entered the geological survey department of the Moscow Mining Academy .
In 1941 he defended his thesis on the topic "Tectonics of the southern margin of the Karaganda region and the Chu-Ili mountains."
In 1944 he defended his doctoral thesis on the topic "Tectonics and oil-bearing capacity of the Ishimbayevsky Cis-Urals".
Since 1936, an employee, since 1946 a professor, in 1947-1951, head of the General Geology Department of the Moscow Geological Prospecting Institute .
In 1951-1971, head of the Department of Historical and Regional Geology, Geological Faculty, Moscow University .
In 1951-1953 director of the Research Institute of Geology, Geological Faculty of Moscow State University.
In 1952-1954 pro-rector of Moscow University.
In 1964–1970, Dean of the Geological Faculty of Moscow State University.
Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Geological Faculty of Moscow State University (1964-1970, member from 1951 to 1971).
He died on September 18, 1971 in Moscow, and was buried at the Novodevichy Cemetery .

- The son of Bogdanov, Nikita Alekseevich (1931–2003) is a geologist.
