Salt-N-Pepa ( Salt-en-Papa , from English "Salt and Pepper") is an American female hip-hop trio from Queens , New York City [1] [2] .

Founded in 1985, Salt-N-Pepa was one of the first purely female rap groups [3] [4] . As of 2014, he is a Grammy winner for “Best Rap Performed by a Duet or Group” (1995) [5] , “ MTV Video Music Award ” for “Best Electronic Dance Video” (1994), “Best Choreography” (1994 ) and “The Best R & B Style Video Clip” (1994), as well as the “BET Hip Hop Award” in the “I Am Hip-Hop Icon” category (2010), and this is still the only female hip-hop group that managed to win “ Grammy and reach platinum sales [6] .
The song “ Let's Talk About Sex ” performed by the Salt-N-Pepa group is included in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame list of 500 Songs That Shaped Rock and Roll [7] .
