Taraxacum brachyrhynchum

Taraxacum brachyrhynchum (lat.) Is a species of dicotyledonous plants of the genus Dandelion ( Taraxacum ) of the Asteraceae family. First described by the botanist G. E. Haglund in 1964 [2] .

Distribution Description

Endemic to Jan Mayen Island , part of Norway . One of at least three species of the genus Dandelion endemic to this island; the other two are Taraxacum recedens ( Dahlst. ) GE Haglund (now considered synonymous with Taraxacum acromaurum Dahlst. [3] ) and Taraxacum torvum GE Haglund [4] [5] .

The plant is small in size, about 10 cm tall. The leaves are long. The inflorescence is bright yellow. Fruit - achene 4 mm in size, yellow or gray in color [6] .
