Theodor Rosetti ( rum. Theodor Rosetti ; May 5, 1837 , Vaslui | July 17, 1923 , Bucharest ) - Romanian political, state and diplomatic figure, lawyer, journalist, writer. Honorary Member of the Romanian Academy (since 1891).

Biography
A descendant of an old boyar clan. He studied financial and political sciences at the universities of Lviv and Vienna , later - law in Paris . After graduation, he worked as a judge in Iasi , a teacher at the Law Faculty of Iasi University .
In 1863 he was among the founding members of the literary society "Junimea", a member of the Conservative Party.
In 1872 he was sent as a diplomat to Romania's first diplomatic mission in Berlin.
From January 7, 1875 to March 31, 1876 - Minister of Agriculture in the office of Laskar Katharju .
Twice was Prime Minister of Romania - from March 23, 1888 to March 22, 1889. During the execution of the first term of office, he simultaneously held the post of Minister of the Interior.
From November 12, 1888 to March 22, 1889, Rosetti was also the chairman of the Council of State, and from November 5, 1889 to November 15, 1890, he was the Minister of Justice.
In the years 1890-1895. headed the National Bank of Romania .
In 1906 - judge of the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague .
In the government, T. Mayorescu in 1912 headed the Ministry of Finance, and a year later from March 27 to July 3, 1913 he was chairman of the Senate.
