Creation History
The idea of the album in non-stop mode was already tested by Minaev on his previous album Collage , but the resulting album lasting more than 40 minutes did not fit on bobbins . The format of audio tapes was in this respect more convenient and beneficial to distributors, although the sound quality suffered [3] .
The album was written and compiled in the summer of 1987 together with Igor Zamaraev in the Moscow outskirts of the recreation center on Lublin Street in the studio of Muslim Magomayev [3] , provided by Vladimir Shirkin, technical director of the Magomayev orchestra [1] . Each morning, Minaev took Igor from his house on the street in 1905, and, getting to the studio, they jointly discussed ideas for the album. Minaev speaks very flattering about Zamaraev: “You need to know Igor - he is an easy, positive person, able to always support in all endeavors. And, most importantly, he who knows how to translate it at the remote control. ” [3] The album was completed in a few weeks. [1]
When creating the soundtrack, we used both “branded” backing tracks (“Silver Cadillac”, “Rap Disc Jockey”, “Edge Pack”, “Who Knocks on My House?”, “Mini-Maxi”, “Karina”), and created by own forces (“Smoke above the water”, “Abracadabra”, “VDNH”, “Hard day”). “Mini-maxi” and “Karina” have nothing to do with the texts of the originals [3] .
On the composition "Rap Disc Jockey" (filmed in Alushta, in the camp of the Moscow Energy Institute, extras - students and "savages" - free) [4] , "Mini-Maxi" and "Karina" video clips were shot; “Rap Disc Jockey” (renamed “Khudsovet” because the word “ rap ” was new then) and “Mini-maxi” were shown in the TV program “ Morning Post ”, “Karina” - in “ Blue Light ” (in which Minaev was the leader of the dance block) [1] .
Theme
“The idea of“ Abracadabra ”is abracadabra in everything: in rhythm, in style and in mind ... 1987 was a promising year for the whole Soviet country ... If you add my 25 years to this, much of the album becomes clear. Satire of the“ Art Council ” (they didn’t let me out of the underground), “Hard Day” (the daily routine of the Soviet employee described by Sergey Mirov), finally the Iraq-Iran theme, where it is unclear “who-for-what”. Ecological motive “Smoke above the water” (“ The national economy is on fire! Flora-fauna of the country! ”)“ I want silence ”- unwillingness to put up with shameless about “Karina” - the story of a “miserable” foreign tourist prostitute (from personal observations). “Edge of the pack” - a remake of “Hunting the Wolves.” “Lilac Cadillac” about the pollution of my beloved city. “Who is knocking on my“ House ”- about the nascent youth extremism. VDNKh is a mockery of the pronina majors from the intelligible organs that are watching me. It’s quite a civic look. Yes, it is yornish, but open and understandable. A smile is where it’s not funny at all. This is my understanding of the life of the 1987 model. ”

Additional Facts
- The lines in the composition “Rap Disc Jockey (Arts Council)” about the Modern Talking duet (“... and 10 years later, when everything disco dies, Talking will still be on tour with us!”) Were prophetic - the band’s first concert in Russia was only in 1998 [5] .
- Despite the fact that "Rap Disc Jockey (Hudsovet)" is a satire on Soviet censorship , the author himself currently expresses some regret for its absence - so on the screen it would be "less obscene." [6]
- In “I want silence”, a fragment of “ The Final Countdown ” by Europe is heard.
- In 2011, Sergey Minaev participated in the telecast of Channel One, “ What are our years : 1987”, performing a remix for “Hard Day” [7] .
