Description
Corey Taylor commented on the song as follows: “You know, that is funny, over the past few weeks, I really got everyone’s interpretation of what this song means to them. It’s quite interesting to hear people’s opinions about what I’m singing about. And I will honest with you, the song is a reflection of my relationship with music, and not just with music, but with the music industry as a whole. Be careful what you love, because sometimes it can attack you. And you know, any time you mix what you love with business so this song is about how i yl still I love music and how I hate the business side, the side of numbers of people in suits ... It's frustrating sometimes, but that is what it is. And fortunately we made a great song. "
Publish
The song was uploaded to their official YouTube channel on October 16, 2014 the day before the release of the album in Japan.
Video clip
Corey Taylor said the group may release Killpop as a full-fledged single and record a video on it. From the end of May to the beginning of June, the group published screenshots from the clip, alternately uploading pictures of the group members. The clip was released on June 8 at 18:00 Moscow time. The video presents two girls who were friendly and valued each other. They are dressed in black tight-fitting clothes, their faces painted black and white. The members of the group are shown first alone, then the entire group that plays the song is shown. One of the girls in the story of the clip dies, and the other mourns her.
Criticism
Loudwire said “Today (October 16th) we heard“ Killpop “, which is probably one of the most successful tracks from the new Slipknot album. The drums of the new Death Metal style drummer are staggering. ” Metal Injection said: “Today, the band released“ killpop “and this is definitely one of the outstanding tracks on the album.” [5]
