Guyon (canton)

Until 2015, the canton included the communes:

• Guyon
• Obvois

As a result of the 2015 reform ^{[1], the} composition of the canton was changed. It included the canton of Guyon-Campan .

On January 1, 2016, two new communes were formed: the communes of Obvois , Saint-Barb-sur-Gayon and Vieux-Ville, merged into the new commune of Le Val-d'Azay , and the communes of Le Croix-Saint-Lefroy , Fontaine-Edbourg and Ecardanville -sur-Er - to the new commune of Clef Valle d' Er .

On January 1, 2017, the communes of Bernier-sur-Seine , Venable and Tony merged into the new commune of Le Trois-Lacs .

The unemployment rate (2011) is 15.5% (France as a whole - 12.8%, Department of Air - 12.5%).
The average annual income per person, Euro (2011) - 20 126 (France as a whole - 25 140, Department of Er - 24 232).

In the 2017 presidential election, the canton residents cast in the 1st round of Marine Le Pen 31.2% of the vote against 20.2% of Emmanuel Macron , 16.9% of Jean-Luc Melanson and 16.8% of Francois Fillon ; in the 2nd round, Macron won the canton, receiving 53.1% of the vote. (2012 1st round: Nicolas Sarkozy - 26.7%, Marine Le Pen - 25.3%, Francois Hollande - 23.8%; 2nd round: Sarkozy - 54.1%. 2007 1st round: Sarkozy - 31.9%, Segolen Royal - 20.6%; Round 2: Sarkozy - 59.8%).

Since 2015, the canton has been represented on the Council of the Air Department by the vice-mayor of Saint-Pierre-de-Baillard, Catherine Meulien ( Socialist Party ) and the mayor of the associated commune, Fontaine-Edbur, Jean-Rémi Ermont ( Different left ). In the March 2015 elections, the mayor of Obvois, Jean-Luc Recher, won a pair with Molyan, but he died in September 2015, and Ermon took his place on the Council.
