Biography
In 1979, Bobby founded his own label 'O' Records, which became a haven of incredible, kitsch -borne Hi-NRG- style songs that glorified body passion (such as The Flirts , Native Love and Shoot Your Shot " Devine ," Take A Chance On Me "by Waterfront Home [5] .
Bobby Orlando produced many hits , mainly in the bands and music projects he created, often consisting of him alone. He was the main vocalist in many of his groups, such as: One, Two, Three (songs “Another Knife In My Back”, “Runaway”), The Now, The Bigalows, Hippies with Haircuts, Kinski Music, Barbie & the Kens ( song “Just a Gigolo”), and Waterfront Home (song “Play That Jukebox”). His music projects: Ian Darby, The Beat Box Boys, Spooge Boy, Something / Anything, New Breed, Jonny Bankcheck, Hotline, Waterfront Home, Banana Republic, Oh Romeo, Teenrock, The New York Models, Hippies With Haircuts, Girly, Barbie & the Kens, Wow, 1 plus 1, The He Man Band, The Boyd Brothers, Nancy Dean, Ian Darby with Ya Ya, Cha Cha featuring Don Diego, Yukihoro Takanawa, This is House, Joy Toy, Dressed To Kill, Band Of South, Dynasty featuring Dexter D, The Now, “One, Two, Three,” Darlene Down, The Fem-Spies, Gangsters of House, Girls Have Fun, Zwei Maenner, Gomez Presley, Gringo Lopez, Patty Phillipe, Malibu, Lilly & the Pink, Miss Tammi Dee, Mc Fritz and the P-Rockers, Charlene Davis, Claus V, Ronnie Goes to Liverpool, The Bang Gang, Bubba and The Jack Attack, Fascination, Free Enterprise, Sandra Ford, Future Generation, Citrus, The College Boys, Condo, The Bigalows, Free Expression, The Look, Contact, Lola, Lifestyle, I Spies, Latin 1, Kinski Music, Gin a Desire, Beachfront, Vision 1, John "Gumball" Gonzales, C. The most famous song by Bobby Orlando as a producer is “ West End Girls ” by Pet Shop Boys [5] . Neil Tennant , then unknown to anyone else, was a great admirer of his talent and Hi-NRG sound, and showed him demos. Bobby liked the recordings and he agreed to produce the band [8] [9] . He signed the band to his indie label Bobcat Records and produced some of the later famous songs. (Moreover, as the band members say, when they worked with Bobby, they wanted to make an authentic "bobby" record, exactly in the style of Bobby [10] .) Bobby's produced song “West End Girls” was released as a single and, although not was commercially successful, became a dance hit in clubs and played on some progressive American radio stations. However, after much deliberation, the group decided to part with the producer. According to rumors, the Pet Shop Boys paid the label and its owner Bobby Oh huge compensation [11] . (Then the group signed a contract with Parlophone and re-recorded both “West End Girls” [12] and other songs. So on the first Pet Shop Boys album we already see other versions of songs. The new version of “West End Girls” was again released as a single and gradually became a big hit.)
