Biography

Born on November 2, 1947 in Topki, Kemerovo Region . [1] [2] Father - Shilovsky Victor Filippovich, a veteran of World War II , fought on the Leningrad Front. After the victory, he worked, and in 1949 he graduated in absentia with honors from the Stalin State Teacher’s Institute , and in 1958, the Stalin Pedagogical Institute . He worked as a teacher in schools in Topki, and since 1949 in Promyshlennaya - school number 2 and number 113, he worked as a geography teacher and head teacher. Mother - Shilovskaya Lidia Filippovna (1946-2001), accountant in the department of public education. Has a brother Sergey and a sister Olga - live in Novosibirsk [2] .

In 1971 he graduated with honors from the history department of the Faculty of Humanities of Novosibirsk State University , defending a thesis on the topic “Siberian regionalism at the turn of the century (1894-1907)” [1] [2] Engaged in a special seminar by L. M. Goryushkin [1 ] [2] . After graduating from university for 3 months (September - November 1971), before being drafted into the army, he taught history and geography at the Krasninsky secondary school of the Promyshlenovsky district. [2]

From November 1971 to November 1972 he served in the ranks of rank and file and sergeant in the Air Force units of the Siberian Military District . [2]

From November 1972 to December 1975 he studied in full-time postgraduate study at the Institute of History, Philology and Philosophy of the Siberian Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences (SB AS USSR). [2]

On December 26, 1975, under the scientific supervision of a doctor of historical sciences, professor, corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR L. M. Goryushkin (he was also the scientific director of the thesis), he defended his dissertation for the degree of candidate of historical sciences on the topic "Siberian regionalism on the eve and in years the first Russian revolution. 1895-1907. From January 1976 to the present - assistant, associate professor (since 1981), professor (since 1994) and head (since 1996) of the Department of Russian History (until 1989 - Department of the History of the CPSU), Faculty of Humanities, Novosibirsk State University . [1] [2]

March 21, 1992 he defended his thesis for the degree of Doctor of Historical Sciences on the topic "Siberian regionalism in the second half of the XIX - early XX centuries." [1] [2]

Since July 2001 - Head of the History Sector of the second half of the 16th — beginning of the 20th centuries. Institute of History, SB RAS . [1] [2]

The author of more than 300 scientific publications, including 3 monographs and several textbooks. [2]

Sons - Denis Mikhailovich (born 1976), graduated from the Department of History of the Faculty of Humanities at NSU, defended his Ph.D. thesis in 2002 and currently works as a senior lecturer at the Department of History and Political Science at the Academy of Economics and Management in Novosibirsk [2] ; Pavel Mikhailovich (born 1979), after graduating from high school, works at a construction site. [2]
