Johnny's Jr. ( Jap. ジ ャ ニ ー ズ Jr. Jiani: zu Junia ) is the "youngest" section of artists from the Japanese talent search agency Johnny & Associates . Most of its members are boys of early adolescence who have not yet made their debut, that is, have not released music recordings [1] [2] .
The system of training artists by Johnny & Associates is as follows. First, the company recruits boys and teaches them to sing and dance. At the end of the course, they are admitted to Johnny's Jr. The usual age of the participants here is early adolescence, and their main job is to dance at concerts of senior friends. From the participants Johnny's Jr. music groups (boy bands) are also being created. Although these junior boy bands can already perform at national concerts and in various theater musical productions with senior comrades, they still do not publish their own CDs and do not receive a full-fledged promotion. The group remains in the Johnny's Jr. section until it debuted (i.e. has not released its own disc). When, as a result, the company decides on the debut of one of the groups, then it already begins to receive full advertising and promotional support, all the company's resources are used [2] .
Through the Johnny's Jr. Section passed many very popular now boy bands agencies, such as SMAP , KinKi Kids , V6 , Arashi , KAT-TUN . According to the authors of the Electronic Journal of Modern Japanese Studies, Johnny's Jr. considered the founder of the modern system of training idols , both in Japan and in other countries of Southeast Asia [3] .
