The 57th Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment was formed on February 8, 1943 by renaming the 36th Fighter Aviation Regiment as the Guards Regiment for the exemplary performance of combat missions and the courage and heroism shown on the basis of the Order of the USSR NCO [1] .

Disbandment of the Regiment

In connection with the change in the military doctrine of the USSR, the 57th Guards Fighter Aviation Red Banner Regiment was disbanded on June 01, 1978, all regalia were transferred to the 991st Fighter Aviation Regiment (aero. Besovets , Karelia ).
