Biography
Victor Ilyin was born in 1932. He began to actively engage in cycling in early childhood, and was repeatedly the winner of the All-Union and All-Russian Championships.
Thanks to a series of successful performances, he was awarded the right to defend the country's honor at the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne , together with teammates Eduard Gusev , Vladimir Mitin and Rodislav Chizhikov reached the quarter finals in the team pursuit program, where he lost to the team from the UK. For outstanding sports achievements he was awarded the honorary title " Master of Sports of the USSR of the international class " [1] [2] .
