Klevezali is a Russian noble family of German descent, who moved from Mecklenburg to Kurland , and after its accession to the Russian Empire accepted Russian citizenship.

Some representatives of the Klevezalei clan in the Russian service retained Lutheran religions and German names, but the Ryazan branch adopted Orthodoxy [1] . Initially, the clan was baronial and had the prefix “ von ” (von Klewesahl [2] ), which the representatives of the clan who converted to Orthodoxy refused in official documentation. Among the Klevezals there are not a few military men, however, there are also doctors, biologists, artists, writers and representatives of other professions.

- Nikolai Efimovich Klevezal (1787 - 1864) - participant in the Napoleonic Wars , cavalier of the Order of St. George of the 4th degree, who retired with the rank of colonel . Nikolay Efimovich the founder of the Ryazan branch of the clan: from January 9, 1830, as the Kasimov landowner, he was introduced to the third part of the DRC of the Ryazan province. [3] In the years 1833-1850, he held the post of Kasimovsky district leader of the nobility (in this capacity he was promoted to actual state councilor ). He was married to a noblewoman Varvara Vladimirovna Chikhacheva [4] , the daughter of the provincial secretary. From this marriage, Nikolai Efimovich had six children, including four sons, who also became military men. The eldest of them - Pavel Nikolaevich Klevezal , early resigned.
- Vladimir Nikolaevich Klevezal (1835 - after 1901) - the second son of Nikolai Efimovich, participant in the suppression of the uprising in Poland in 1863 and the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-1878 , memoirist, lieutenant general . He had three children.
- Alexander Nikolaevich Klevezal (1853 - after 1895) - the third son of Nikolai Efimovich, a participant in the Russian-Turkish war of 1877-1878, the centurion of the Kuban Cossack army, was awarded the insignia, had the Order of St. George 4th and 3rd degree [ 5] .
- Evgeny Nikolaevich Klevezal , the youngest son of Nikolai Efimovich, also devoted himself to military service, having risen, like his father, to the rank of colonel .
- Vladimir Vladimirovich Klevezal (1863 - after 1917) - the son of Vladimir Nikolaevich, a military engineer and with the rank of colonel, for 1914 held the position of head of the Narva department for apartment allowance of troops. He was awarded a number of awards, including the Order of St. Stanislav of the 2nd degree (1901), the Order of St. Anna of the 2nd degree (1907) and the Order of St. Vladimir of the 3rd degree (1913) [6] .
- Vladimir Pavlovich Klevezal (1864 - after 1918) - the nephew of Vladimir Nikolaevich and the son of Pavel Nikolaevich, was a well-known Zemstvo doctor and was in charge of honey. a site in the village of Tuma, Ryazan province, and then with its private ambulance there. He was a member of the Local Council of the Russian Orthodox Church of 1917-1918 from the laity [7] , after which he was repeatedly arrested and persecuted in Soviet times, as a monarchist and nobleman [8] [9] . He was shot [10] .
- Galina Aleksandrovna Klevezal - daughter of engineer and artist Alexander Petrovich Klevezal (1908 - 1940) [11] [12] and great-granddaughter of Vladimir Pavlovich [10] , Doctor of Biological Sciences , leading researcher at the Institute of Development Biology named after NK Koltsova RAS [13] , a well-known specialist in determining the age of mammals [14] [15] [16] [17] .
