Biography
Lardin was born in Manresa, Barcelona , Catalonia , and began playing football with the local Manresa team, and made his professional debut with Espanyol in the 1992/93 season. The team later flew out of La Liga, but that did not stop Lardin from becoming a good attacking player in the following years.
In the 1994/95 season, the “parrots” were close to the UEFA Cup zone, and the next season the team entered the tournament, Lardin scored 29 goals in 76 matches under the leadership of Jose Antonio Camacho [1] . Then he scored in both matches against Real Madrid , which his team won with a score of 3: 1 and 2: 1, respectively [2] .
In 1996, Lardin played for the Spanish national team at the Atlanta Summer Olympics , he played in all matches, and his team reached the quarter-finals [3] .
Before the 1997/98 season, Lardin signed a contract with Atletico Madrid worth 1.5 billion pesetas , but during his first year in the club he played only one match. A serious accident in October 1997 [4] did not prevent his debut for the national team a month later, Lardin played in a friendly match against Romania in Palma de Mallorca , the game ended in a draw 1: 1 [5] .
After two leases on his former team, Espanyol [6] and Sherry from Segunda, Lardin left football at the age of 29, claiming he was “fed up” with sports [2] . Two years later, he resumed his career in the modest Leganes , where he spent one season. He soon moved to an amateur club from Barcelona, Esparregueira.
Currently, he is the coordinator of the Espanyola training base and devotes his days off to the games of club veterans such as Maranhon or Fernando Molinos.
