Description
Small butterfly-shaped butterflies with a wingspan of 8-10 mm. Head with moderately large eyes, no eyes. Jaw palps rudimentary. Labial palps are long. Feed plants are unknown. The species was first described in 2014 by the American entomologist E. Phillips-Rodrigues ( Eugenie Phillips-Rodríguez ; Instituto Nacional de Biodiversidad, INBio, Santo Domingo , Costa Rica ). The species name was given in honor of Joan and Anne Blaine ( Joan and Anne Blaine ; Kennett Square, PA, USA) for supporting research and the ACG program (Área de Conservación Guanacaste) [1] .
