Edguy

Edguy was founded in 1992 by Tobias Zammet, Dirk Sauer, Jens Ludwig and Dominic Storich, who at that time were 15 years old. The name was chosen as the nickname of their math teacher Edgar Zimmerer, who was called "Edguy".

In 1995, after releasing two demos, the band received a contract with AFM Records . The first two albums did not have much success, but with the release of “ Vain Glory Opera ” in 1998, the group became quite widely known, largely thanks to the help of guest guitarist Timo Tolkka from Stratovarius , who also played the role of producer, and guest vocalist Hansi Kürsch from Blind Guardian . In 1999, the group released the Theater Of Salvation, a year later re-recorded The Savage Poetry, and in 2001 the album Mandrake was released. In parallel, Zammet creates the rock opera Avantasia , which was attended by many invited power metal musicians. In 2004, she received a contract with Nuclear Blast Records and released her 6th full-length album, Hellfire Club. In 2006, the album Rocket Ride was released . In November 2008, Nguy Blast released Edguy's next album, " Tinnitus Sanctus ", on which the band added more hard n heavy. In 2009, Fucking With F *** released its first DVD with a concert in 2006 in São Paulo.

On August 26, 2011, Nuclear Blast released the 9th album of Age of the Joker.

On April 18, 2014, the album Space Police: Defenders of the Crown was released , reaching the 2nd position in the German charts, which is an absolute record for Edguy.

In 2017, the album "Monuments" was released.
