The game takes place in 1944 in World War II, the player - pilot of the F6F Hellcat , takes off from the aircraft carrier USS Wasp (CV-18) in order to launch air strikes to ships and ground targets on the islands seized by Japan in the Pacific Ocean.
Different versions of the game differ from each other in graphic design and some sound effects. Some differences of the game in different versions and for different markets:
- in the DOS version of the game there is no music and the sky background is black (actions take place at night),
- in the version for Amiga there is musical accompaniment when loading the game, titles, sky background is light blue (actions take place during the day),
- The game, released on the Japanese market, was reworked to reflect the outcome of the Second World War. [ clarify ]
- Commodore 64/128 version of the game does not support recording the current state.
Computer Gaming World magazine marked the game as " one of the best in terms of graphics, which Apple has demonstrated recently ." The game received 4 of 5 stars in the magazine Dragon .
