Childhood
Born December 3, 1960 in the village of Togur, Kolpashevsky district , Tomsk region.
The boy grew up completely independent, and showed character almost from a toddler. As a fifth grader, I started doing laundry, resolutely declaring: “Mom, I myself!”
From the memoirs of the mother of Sergei Vladimirovich Maslov, Valentina Nikolaevna:
| I always inspired three main principles for children: they knew how to work and love, didn’t take someone else’s and respected teachers. I don’t remember that Sergei had to be forced to do something. He really showed independence very early and followed it in the future. Maybe because he was the eldest among the children, taking care of his younger brother and sister. I used to come home from night duty (I worked as a nurse), and there everything is in order, everything is tidy, a simple breakfast is prepared for me - Serezha left for school .... |
Sergey read a lot. Once I took from someone an interesting book for a while and sat with it after midnight, until my mother forced to turn off the light - after all, the next day to school. Much later, Sergei admitted that he was cheating then: he waited until his mother fell asleep, and slowly climbed into the home underground. He sat down on the step of the stairs, turned on the light and read almost until morning. Then class teacher Maria Bekbulatova was surprised at that - Maslov walks sleepy all day at school!
He studied well at school, in almost all subjects in five, only in foreign and Russian languages - in four. He was a very active, kind boy, participated in all sports competitions.
Vladimir Ivanovich Fomintsev , a professor of military affairs, noted in his conversation that Sergei always wanted to become a pilot, and not just a pilot, but a fighter pilot . Speed, maneuver, dynamics of events - breathtaking, adrenaline jumps. Also, Vladimir notes:
“ Sergey was purposeful, persistently went to his dream! ".
Activities
After graduating from college with a "red" diploma, Lieutenant Maslov was sent to serve in the Central Group of Soviet Forces (TSSSV), stationed in Czechoslovakia . Here the young pilot and "stood on the wing", having received a real professional qualification. And soon the battle: he was sent to Afghanistan .
In the midst of military events in Afghanistan, from 1986 to 1987, Sergey Vladimirovich, among other officers, honorably fulfilled his international duty in a friendly republic. As the commander of the Mi-24P helicopter , he carried out the tasks of the command to destroy enemy gangs, provided escort and cover for reconnaissance groups, and the evacuation of the wounded. On the account of Commander Maslov there are 368 sorties. Fulfillment of tasks always had to be carried out mainly in places of mass deployment of militants, and therefore it was practically impossible to avoid shelling. The helicopter repeatedly suffered serious damage, however, thanks to the experience and high professionalism of the pilot Maslov, the machine always returned to base with the crew. For courage and heroism shown in the performance of an international duty in the Republic of Afghanistan , Sergei Maslov was awarded the Order of the Red Star . [2] .
Since September 1995, Sergei Maslov has been in flight test work at the V.P. Chkalov State Flight Testing Center . He has carried out a full cycle of state tests of the Mi-28N combat helicopter at night, as well as a large volume of tests for testing the weapons of the Mi-28 combat helicopter and a number of other helicopter test operations.
On April 9, 2008, by decree of the President of the Russian Federation , Colonel Sergei Vladimirovich Maslov was awarded the title of Hero of the Russian Federation with the award of the Gold Star medal for the courage and heroism shown during the testing of new aviation equipment.
Currently, Sergey Vladimirovich continues to serve and lives in the village of Chkalovsky in the Moscow region , located in the city of Shchelkovo .
