The first book, published on the eve of the war in the Roman Gazette , immediately gained extraordinary popularity for outstanding literary skill, clever, kind, and cheerful wit. The book was reprinted many times and was filmed, and one reprint occurred even after the author’s arrest under a political article (1946). Translated and published in English, German, French, Dutch, Danish, Hebrew, and other languages [1] .
The second book, written in a completely different, philosophical style, was written in the Stalinist camp, where the author spent the years 1947-1954. The popularity of the first book helped him to survive and to get permission to engage in literary work in the DubrovLug.
The place occupied by Solovyov in Russian literature, he secured himself by writing a book about a semi-legendary folk sage who lived in the 13th century; The basis of this book consists of about 300 funny incidents from the life of Khoja Nasreddin, which have reached our time. The image of Nasreddin in the book of Solovyov preserved the traditional mixture of trickery and nobility, aimed at protecting the oppressed, wisdom and love of adventure; and in the second part of the book the fantasy-entertaining side is greatly weakened. In the free-processed episodes from the life of Nasreddin, the style inherent in Eastern literature, with its imagery and spectacular expressiveness, is preserved [2] .
The Tale of Khoja Nasreddin is included in the list of 100 books for schoolchildren , recommended by the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia for reading by secondary school students [3] .

The first film adaptation (“ Nasreddin in Bukhara ”, according to the book “Distressor of Peace”) took place in the military in 1943, when films were made mainly on combat or patriotic themes. After the war, another film was shot, The Adventures of Nasreddin (1946). In subsequent years, two versions of the novel “The Enchanted Prince” appeared: “ Nasreddin in Khujand, or the Enchanted Prince ” (1959), “ Look Merry ” (1982). Separate episodes of this work, describing the tricks of little Khoja Nasreddin, were embodied in the fairy-tale film “ Taste of Halva ” (1975), which is dedicated to the memory of Leonid Solovyov.
