Antarctica
The polar cap is an area on the surface of the planet , characterized by the presence of low temperature, due to the small amount of solar energy, and covered with ice of a certain chemical composition. There are polar caps on the Earth ( Arctic and Antarctica ) and on Mars. Scientists also suggest the presence of caps at the North Pole of Mercury , which is not illuminated by the Sun, where the temperature is around −50 degrees Celsius year- round.
